Who are we?

An interior design studio

What does that mean?

That we work with spaces where people are at the center.

So, what does that mean?

If you look at the stages of working with us, you’ll notice that before we even start designing, we strive to thoroughly understand your needs. Who you are, what you’re like, and what your priorities are – this forms the basis for creating a space where you’ll spend a significant part of your life. You might consider this a waste of time. However, trust us, well-established foundations lead to much better results in our ongoing collaboration.

We believe that design is a conversation. We are experts; we know many solutions and materials, and we see and feel space (even though it only exists “on paper”). You know yourselves and your needs best. Our task is to use our knowledge and talent to create an interior that is perfectly tailored to you and consistent with your personality.

What does your day look like? How do you function daily? What is important to you in life? There are as many answers as there are people in the world. For each of us, something different is important at a given stage of life. An interior should be adapted to our needs. One can plan for the same space to change with our needs, or for us to move and adapt other spaces to our needs. Every decision is good; what’s important is that it’s conscious. And among other things, this is what we do: raising awareness, showing possibilities, and building comfort in everyday life.

About me

Malwina Morelewska

I started working on my own right after graduating with a degree in Interior Architecture from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. This adventure has been ongoing since 2006. I began as a freelancer, then founded the Projekt Mimo studio, which underwent rebranding in 2020 and became the Morelewska.com interior design studio.

It's possible!

I completed my first commercial project in my second year of studies, designing a tiny pancake house in Ursynów, which unfortunately no longer exists. I probably wouldn’t have taken on such a commission at such an early stage, if not for the fact that I am the daughter of two architects. The substantive and technical support I received from them was invaluable. My dad always used to say that anything is possible. That stuck with me. If someone tells me it can’t be done, it means they either don’t have time for it or don’t know how to do it. Anything can be done – the only question is at what cost and in what time.

Architect ornithologist
with a love for detail

Another aspect of having architect parents – I grew up in a designed space, created by a family friend, architect Andrzej Fajans. Comfortable, simple interiors, interesting cubature, and large windows from the living room overlooking the garden – I was lucky to grow up in such a space. I grew up surrounded by greenery and nature, where my mom didn’t say to me and my siblings, ‘look, a bird,’ but rather ‘look, a starling or a blackbird’ (she loves animals). And it turns out that thanks to this, I also recognize some bird species.

This isn’t my mom’s only influence. For several years during my studies, I photographed interiors she designed. I also participated in some client meetings and material selection. I watched as models were created, full of colorful, meticulous details. And despite a significant difference in our personalities (which made it impossible to work together on projects), I think this passion for refining the smallest details – my mom passed on to me.

Visual language

I started learning French in high school, and as one of the few in my class, I really grew to like the language. Out of my entire high school experience, especially my math and physics class, I probably remember those lessons best. From a French textbook, I also learned how to make crepes, and a few years later, at a friend’s place in Brittany, I had the opportunity to learn how to flip them on a special griddle. While studying in Warsaw, I received a scholarship for a year of studies in Paris, France (Ecole Boulle). I also had the opportunity to intern at two French companies. And all of this happened before Poland was a member of the European Union. I was able to gain a different perspective on the world, on design – the perspective of people with different histories and experiences. Years later, while working with an investor from Paris, I learned that the school I attended is one of the most respected schools in our profession. Working in the international market is a challenge, but also a satisfaction. The approach and working methods differ, but the beautiful thing is that even when words fail, we can sketch out what we mean with a contractor, and everything becomes clear. The language of drawing/visual language is international.

Public speaking

I not only design but also give lectures and conduct training. I completed the ‘Train The Trainer’ course at the Open University of Warsaw. Preparing training sessions for a wider audience allowed me to greatly systematize my own knowledge, and also taught me how to speak to be understood. This is well illustrated by the words of one of my clients: “When I told the contractors what I expected, they didn’t know what to do. I conveyed it to you, you to them, and they immediately carried it out.” I am a translator between the world of investors and contractors. I enjoy imparting knowledge, and I also enjoy learning myself. Among other things, I conducted my original training ‘Będzie Pan Zadowolony’ with PCAW, participated in discussion panels at Archiday and Architekt@Work; in cooperation with SAW, I gave lectures at the Sopot University of Applied Sciences. I consulted on the curriculum for interior architecture at Warsaw UTH; year after year, I am a Juror in the ‘Dobry Design’ competition at 4DD in Katowice. I am also actively involved in the Program Council of the Association of Interior Architects, working, among other things, on the standardization of our profession as interior architects.

Association of Interior Architects – I joined this initiative at the beginning of 2022, with the aim of actively supporting the community. That’s how I ended up in the Program Council, currently its Core Team, where together with the Board, we are working on standardizing our profession, all so that you, our clients, can more easily navigate this market and have a point of reference.

Client testimonials

What our clients say about us

Ms. Malvina was recommended to me by a good friend of mine, and I don’t regret it at all. We started working together on the renovation project of our 210 m² house at the end of May 2022, and already on March 1, 2023 we celebrated our housewarming! I was very impressed by Ms. Malwina’s efficiency and professionalism, as well as her out-of-the-box approach to solving any problems and her ability to calmly and effectively find a way out of difficult situations.

I also admire her impeccable taste, her sense of proportion and harmony, her ability to anticipate the client’s preferences and her very pleasant way of communicating.

Marina and Sergey

I sincerely recommend working with Ms. Malvina. My project was not easy, the rearrangement of a house that already had several years, not very attractive decor and requiring changes in the layout of rooms. Opening up the space on the first floor required technical expertise, interference with load-bearing walls and installation. Ms. Malwina not only took care of the decor, but above all expertly supervised the reconstruction of structural elements.

At every stage, pleasant and very factual cooperation, avoided many mistakes. Selection of good contractors and subsequent professional supervision of contractors.

The end result fully met the high expectations : )

Arthur

I started cooperation with Ms. Malwina and the architecture studio when finishing my apartment in Mokotow. Ms. Malwina took care of preparing the interior design of the entire apartment, suggesting architectural changes and supervising the finishing touches. Probably today I would not be so satisfied with living here if it were not for this cooperation.

Ms. Malwina’s support and professionalism were invaluable in making so many decisions during this project, from moving walls and discussions with the developer, to placing the electrics, choosing materials, to final cooperation with subcontractors and overseeing their work.

Working with Ms. Designer is a great support and pleasure, I definitely recommend!

Isabella

I was recommended to work with Ms. Malvina by a friend who was also planning to use her services. I was planning a comprehensive home renovation. Ms. Malwina understood our expectations and tastes well, and presented a multi-variant design, which allowed us to select good solutions both functional and aesthetic. Several of Ms. Malwina’s suggestions significantly improved the comfort of the house after the renovation. The visualizations presented perfectly reflected the effect achieved after the work was completed. An important element was the selection and coordination of all renovation teams and the supervision of the progress of the work in conjunction with the selection and ordering of materials. The proposals were clear, tailored to our expectations.

Anna and Wojciech

It was a very good cooperation! Malwina prepared the design of our house. She listened to our needs, proposed solutions, and saw to the implementation. The house is both beautiful and functional. If we were to finish another house or apartment, we would turn to Malwina again. We sincerely recommend it!

Milena and Maciej

We are very pleased with the cooperation with Ms. Malvina, who perfectly understood our needs and expectations. She designed us a functional and cozy interior and comprehensively supervised the implementation. Professionalism, reliability and knowledge are just a few of the many strengths of the designer. I strongly recommend
